Frequently, a certain spot within your landscape area will just seem to be begging for a particular placement of one of our special stones. But when
placement decisions are less obvious, here is a good general rule:
By deliberately setting the largest circumference of a stone at the ground level, with the smaller end downward, a natural-looking massiveness is emphasized. This results in a
half-buried appearance so common in natural settings. 
We can mark an approximate “bury line” and a “best side down” on rocks that suggest this type of placement. We have a huge variety of beautiful granite.
